A tag has been placed on your user page, User:AscendantStudios, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Bishonen | tålk 20:31, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I will continue to contribute not only to the Ascendant Studios page but to the gaming industry as a whole. I am a die-hard gamer that intends to share my knowledge for the industry across Wikipedia. I understand my reason for being blocked was because my username did not represent me as an individual person contributing to Wikipedia. My new username is based on [XYZ-my name/work/role] to show that I am an individual using this account. I would like to contribute to Wikipedia on behalf of my employer, Ascendant Studios, to create and help maintain a page about our studio and the game we are developing, Immortals of Aveum. I am being compensated by Ascendant Studios to write on their behalf and I have added a disclosure on my user page that I am contributing to Wikipedia on behalf of my employer.

Decline reason:

Well, you haven't added the disclosure to your user page yet because you're blocked, but you can put it on this page in the interim. However, you aren't just blocked for your username, but for promoting your company. You indicate that you still want to edit about your company and topics related to your conflict of interest, that won't be permitted at this time. If your employer has asked you to be here, they've given you an impossible task. We will want to see edits in other areas unrelated to your conflict of interest, to demonstrate your understanding of relevant Wikipedia content guidelines before permitting you to indirectly contribute about topics for which you have a COI. If you have no other interest, this is the end of the line. 331dot (talk) 23:53, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand my reason for being blocked was because my username did not represent me as an individual person contributing to Wikipedia. My new username is based on a cool way to express my role at the company while maintaining my personality. I created this Wikipedia page with the intention to show that I am an individual using this account. I would like to contribute to Wikipedia on behalf of my employer, Ascendant Studios, to create and help maintain a page about our studio and the game we are developing, Immortals of Aveum. I am being compensated by Ascendant Studios to write on their behalf and this is my disclosure stating I am contributing to Wikipedia on behalf of my employer. I ask kindly that the Wikipedia Admins understand not only I, but everyone at my company seeks to promote unbias statements and only objectivity. Wikipedia is powerful guidance to many in the world and not treating it as such is unruly. We will uphold the community guidelines and follow them carefully. I hope you review this second request and allow me to become a valuable asset to the Wikipedia space.

Decline reason:

I'm very-soft closing this as stale. You are welcome to make a new, hopefully more persuasive request. I reiterate as I said above, "You indicate that you still want to edit about your company and topics related to your conflict of interest, that won't be permitted at this time. If your employer has asked you to be here, they've given you an impossible task. We will want to see edits in other areas unrelated to your conflict of interest, to demonstrate your understanding of relevant Wikipedia content guidelines before permitting you to indirectly contribute about topics for which you have a COI. If you have no other interest, this is the end of the line.". 331dot (talk) 13:31, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I would also suggest that you read WP:BOSS, and have your superiors read it too. 331dot (talk) 13:31, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
