Reversal of my change to Telephone numbers in Tristan da Cunha

HI EWikist,

After a discussion at Talk:Telephone numbers in Saint Helena (in which nobody but me wanted to participate because it was non-controversial), I have decided to merge Telephone numbers in Tristan da Cunha and Telephone numbers in Saint Helena. I have executed this merger in accourdance with the official merging protocol. If you oppose this merger, then please explain this at Talk:Telephone numbers in Saint Helena instead of starting an edit war. Thanks! -- 79.238.166.39 (talk) 00:33, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Your allegegiations of "addition of unsourced content and/or unexplained removal of content" are false. I did not add anything but a redirect and what I removed is already present in Telephone numbers in Saint Helena. I have also explained the change in detail at Talk:Telephone numbers in Saint Helena. Thus, my change was neither an addition or removal of content nor was it unexplained. -- 79.238.166.39 (talk) 00:39, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
It would have been helpful if you had referenced the discussion in your edit; without that crucial bit of information I didn't have any context for this perfectly valid change. Please use an edit summary when possible. Thanks! EWikistTalk 00:47, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
You're right about that. I thought it was sufficient if there was the merger template in the OLD version. -- 79.238.166.39 (talk) 00:55, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Gene Chizik

He is a "lame duck" and on his way out. I almost reported user:75.163.129.46 to wp:aiv before looking up the guy on the intertubes, apologizing and reverting my warnings. Jim1138 (talk) 03:29, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Well, considering the IP didn't use any reference or explain his actions in the edit summary, I can understand the mistake. Happy editing! [[File:|18px|link=]] EWikistTalk 21:26, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Introduction!

Hi Professor Eltiti, My name is Julie Brown, and I am a junior in your MW cognitive psych class! I am from Cupertino, California in the Bay Area, and I am excited about what we are learning in this class! Julisong (talk) 02:19, 13 February 2012 (UTC)Julie

Um... I'm sorry to say that I am not, nor do I know anybody named, Professor Eltiti. I am, however, glad to hear that you are looking forwards to your MW Cognitive Psych class, and wish you luck in your future educational endeavours. Also, if there is anything I can do to help you with anything on Wikipedia, please don't hesitate to ask. Happy editing! EWikistTalk 03:40, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

GOCE March copy edit drive

Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors

The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their March 2012 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on March 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on March 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goal for the drive will be to eliminate the remaining 2010 articles from the queue. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits more than 4,000 words, and special awards will be given to the top 5 in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". We hope to see you there! – Your drive coordinators: Dank, Diannaa, Stfg, and Coordinator emeritus SMasters. 19:34, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

New Page Triage engagement strategy released

Hey guys!

I'm dropping you a note because you filled out the New Page Patrol survey, and indicated you'd be interested in being contacted about follow-up work. This is to notify you that we've finally released both the initial documentation about the project and also the engagement strategy, which sets out how we plan to work with the community on this. Please give both a read, and leave any comments or suggestions you have on the talkpage, on my talkpage, or in my inbox - okeyes@wikimedia.org.

It's awesome to finally get to start work on this! :). Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 02:29, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

GOCE March drive newsletter

Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 backlog elimination drive update

GOCE March 2012 Backlog Elimination progress graphs

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 Backlog elimination drive! Here's the mid-drive newsletter.

Participation: We have had 58 people sign up for this drive so far, which compares favorably with our last drive, and 27 have copy-edited at least one article. If you have signed up but have not yet copy-edited any articles, please consider doing so. Every bit helps! If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us!

Progress report: Our target of completing the 2010 articles has almost been reached, with only 56 remaining of the 194 we had at the start of the drive. The last ones are always the most difficult, so thank you if you are able to help copy-edit any of the remaining articles. We have reduced the total backlog by 163 articles so far.

Special thanks: Special thanks to Stfg, who has been going through the backlog and doing some preliminary vetting of the articles—removing copyright violations, doing initial clean-up, and nominating some for deletion. This work has helped make the drive a more pleasant experience for all our volunteers.

Your drive coordinators – Dianna (talk), Stfg (talk), and Dank (talk)
