Socks are blocked[edit]

Don't sweat the Shup socks, I block them on an ongoing basis but let them go a little bit from time to time in the hopes this guy will try to join the community as a constructive editor. If he could just stop socking, and edit warring, there really wouldn't be a problem in the first place. Out of curiosity, what brought you into conflict with him? Hiberniantears (talk) 16:48, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i readded some information that was deleted in demographics part and arranged the article a little bit with new pics and stuff. but he keeps reverting with that i own that article behaviour. i think he is seriously ill and dont wanna mess with him but i also want my additions to stay in the article so i dunno what ill do now. Cut and paste moves[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Yanartaş a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is considered undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Middle East[edit]

I'm sure you feel strongly about this, but if you read Talk:Middle East, you will see a fairly strong consensus in favor of keeping Turkey in the Middle East, for a number of reasons. Wikipedia works on consensus, so if you want to change it, you have to do so in the discussion first. Reverting will get you nowhere. Your make a mistake in your argument that "Turkey is politically in Europe". It is not, it is just a member of some European organizations (e.g. OSCE, NATO,UEFA) but not others. If Turkey is "politically in Europe" why is it not in the EU? More importantly, this has nothing to do with the Middle East. There is no reason why Turkey cannot be in both. Even if Turkey were "politically in Europe" that does not mean it can't also be in the Middle East. --Tsourkpk (talk) 17:02, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Mustafa Akaydın[edit]

A tag has been placed on Mustafa Akaydın requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on International Eurasia Film Festival requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Epeefleche (talk) 22:23, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
