Deleted Page Emicode[edit]

I don´t understand, why you have deleted our information about Emicode. We want to try to inform people about a classification, which allows people to choose products for building, which are nearly emission-free and don´t endanger their health. The GEV doesn´t make money by selling products, it is an institution, which represents companies who try to fulfill the highest standards concerning low emissions. The emicode tests are completely independant: In order to maintain its status as an impartial industry association it commissions external test laboratories. What can I do to edit information about Emicode? Thank you very much for an answer, Isabella Roth GEV (talk) 16:21, 18 April 2012 (UTC) GEV (talk) 09:51, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think informing people about Emicode, doesn´t mean using wikipedia as an advertisment space. The association, which stands behind the classification is a non-profit-making association, which you can see in its constitution published on the website, which I allow myself to show you here:

§ 2 Purpose of the association (1) As a non-profit-making association, GEV safeguards and promotes the general economic and idealistic interests of all producers of chemical flooring installation products and building materials and of all kinds of adhesives in the field of occupational-, environmental-, and consumer protection. (2) GEV informs professionals and consumers about the objects of the association as well as about its initiatives and actions for the promotion of occupational-, environmental- and consumer protection. (3) For this purpose, GEV carries out suitable measures to control, classify and label chemical flooring installation products, building materials and adhesives in respects of their emission behaviour. (4) Cooperation with other associations and organizations which pursue the same objectives shall be strived for and supported. (5) In the pursue of its objectives GEV keeps contacts to the appropriate authorities and runs public relations actions. (6) The association’s assets may only be used for the purpose as described in the Constitution. The members receive no contributions from the GEV assets. (7) No individual person shall be preferentially treated, neither by expenses which are not in accordance with the purpose of GEV, nor by disproportionately high privileges

Thank you very much for an answer. Isabella Roth. --GEV (talk) 08:21, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletions[edit]

Userpages are not articles. Furthermore, even if you had posted that in article-space, it would have swiftly gotten deleted; whether or not an organization is for-profit is not the issue.

I must also point out that one of Wikipedia's policies is that any given Wikipedia account is only to be used by a single person, and cannot be used to represent an organization. This account name is "GEV", which clearly stands for "Gemeinschaft Emissionskontrollierte Verlegewerkstoffe". As such, I have blocked the account; however, this is not intended as a reprimand or a punishment. You have not misbehaved, and are welcome to create a personal account -- that is, one whose name clearly indicates that it belongs to a single person instead of to an organization. We appreciate that you wish to make disclosure of your affiliation with the GEV; however, you are not the GEV as a whole. A statement on your userpage, saying something such as "I work for the Gemeinschaft Emissionskontrollierte Verlegewerkstoffe", will be enough.

I apologize for the inconvenience; please try to consider this from our point of view. DS (talk) 13:03, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
