I just changed Hararghe to Emirate of Harar because Hararghe refers to a province that existed later in time, not at the time period being discussed. Most of my changes were that. From Hararghe to the Emirate of Harar, the current political entity at the time. However, I will attach sources to the other ones I did. GetRektLLLLL (talk) 18:03, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, I was wondering how one could change the title, from Egyptian invasion of Hararghe to Egyptian Invasion of the Emirate of Harar, the correct political entity at the time. GetRektLLLLL (talk) 18:04, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
See the requested moves page for instructions on how to move a page to a new title. >>> Ingenuity.talk(); 18:05, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Zeila (historical region)[edit]

Please just let it be. Samira1985 (talk) 06:17, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Zeila was never Somali? Please enlighten on when it became Somali. When was Amharic ever spoken in Zeila or Djibouti for that matter. Samira1985 (talk) 06:40, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Im going to quote the source you keep twisting words about. John Fage says on page 136 "The inhabitants of the Horn at that time seem to have been the ancestors of the present-day Somali." We both agree that the Somali ancestors of those living in that area were the people living there. I agree too. The problem lies with who were those Somali ancestors. Just because they were the ancestors of the Somalis living there doesn't automatically equate to them being Somali. That's why he said "ancestors of the present-day Somali", not Somalis were living there. I have no objection with that first sentence.
The second sentence is the one where you are outright lying. You said that Al Maqrizi said that they spoke a Somali language, that is absolutely not true. You are doing original research and that is an offense on Wikipedia. Al Maqrizi said that they spoke "abysinnian." No where does Al Maqrizi mention they spoke a Somali language. Even John Fage mentions how on page 106 that al Maqrizi "tells us that a local Semitic language was spoken in the kingdom of Ifat, which, as we shall see, later replaced the sultanate of Shoa." Zeila was a part of the Ifat Sultanate.
Hence I am asking the help of admin to stop your vandalism. GetRektLLLLL (talk) 18:55, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please help stop this vandalism.

GetRektLLLLL, I've blocked Samira1985 as a sock. I have no comments, though, on the merits of your dispute or whether Samira's edits were vandalism. In the future, I'd advise you to seek assistance before you edit-war.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:48, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thank you very much. Where can I seek assistance next time? GetRektLLLLL (talk) 19:57, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Assuming you have a content dispute, which is what this appears to be despite your claim that it's vandalism, use dispute resolution to resolve the dispute. The first place to start is the article Talk page.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:01, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thanks. I brought it to the article talk page but they started posting on my personal one. GetRektLLLLL (talk) 21:07, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Maqrizi does speak about the clans specifically who were present in Zeila. Samira1985 (talk) 19:34, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What clans? Did he mention any names of clans? No, he only said there were 7 clans. No mention of Somali. GetRektLLLLL (talk) 19:38, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All the sources specifically mention Darod Jeberti. Are you seriously laying claims on Zeila as an Ethiopian city? Read the IM Lewis chapter about Zeilas indigenous population Samira1985 (talk) 19:41, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
