Oberoendeframkallande

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. The above editor, who also likely edits as Kno CunninLynguists, is interested in keeping a list of samples out of the A Piece of Strange article because the samples on that album were not licensed and they think that by keeping this information off of Wikipedia, they will be less likely to be sued for violation of copyright by the publishers of any of the songs that were illegally sampled on that album. Do not let this user discourage you from contributing to Wikipedia (not that I'm encouraging you to edit war on this specific article—I meant feel free to add sample lists to other album articles).TheJazzDalek (talk) 01:31, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

How could I not feel discouraged? If Kno's edit stands, it's a clear message that if artists want their samples removed, then that will happen eventually. The problem is that the rules must be followed, even if others are not doing so. Just keep a cool head and don't worry about a possible domino effect. Most artists don't have the time to waste worrying about what appears in Wikipedia articles so I don't see that really becoming a problem. TheJazzDalek (talk) 12:08, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on A Piece of Strange. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
