What sort of proof is that meant to be?

@Iqra Ali: A few trusted users have a special right called Checkuser. These people are given that right to:

Check your IP addresses to see if multiple accounts are active and possibly use the same machine, and
Look up your contributions to see if there is a pattern of disruption from your IP.

Also, if multiple accounts were on the same machine, then you don't know that they're the same person. They could just live in the same house.

That doesn't answer my question. How do you know that they are the same user? And, more importantly, how does this site know my IP address?
