Welcome to the Films Project[edit]
Hey, welcome to WikiProject Films! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of films, awards, festivals, filmmaking, and film characters. If you haven't already, please add {{User WikiProject Films}} to your user page.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Most of our important discussions about the project itself and its related articles take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter. The newsletter for May has been published. June's issue is currently in production; it will be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There is a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Want to jump right into editing? The style guidelines show things you should include.
- Want to assist in some current backlogs within the project? Visit the Announcements template to see how you can help.
- Want to see some great film article examples? Head on over to the spotlight department.

Harry Potter[edit]
Welcome to the project, I'm glad to see you are taking an interest right off the bat in improving a film article (I'm assuming that you're referring to the film although the link you left on my talk page is for the book. If you are curious about improving the book article, I'd recommend leaving a note at WP:NOVEL or contacting one of their members. Or better yet, WP:POTTER.) The article is in pretty good shape to begin with, and if you're planning on at least going for GA status, then a few things are needed. The plot should probably be condensed a bit as summaries should stick to 700 words or less if possible. The lead should be expanded to two or three paragraphs to better summarize the article (see WP:LEAD). There's a few one-sentence paragraphs throughout the article. These should either be expanded on or added to another relevant paragraph. The awards section should be expanded and the information converted to prose since there are only a few awards. Go through the article and for any statement that you think may be questioned by a reader, then a citation should be added. Once these are addressed, let me know and I'll take a more detailed look at the article. I would recommend looking to the other HP films that have reached GA status already (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix).
