Hello Jeh, appreciations for keeping an eye on the Talk:PDP-11 talk page, and being in a position to perform the high-speed revert in Special:Diff/813202754. The WP:SIGCLEAN policy covers when it is appropriate to make technical/formatting corrections to other editors' comments. Reviewing the current version (Special:PermanentLink/812399201) we can observe the wording:

"appropriately editing others' comments: … Fixing links: if the linked-to page has moved, … or it unintentionally points to a disambiguation page".

In the mean-time a {{hatnote}} has been placed in Special:Diff/813202969 so that readers may find the material under discussion. —Sladen (talk) 11:49, 2 December 2017 (UTC)

Please. The comment thread was five years old and if we had archiving set up on that page as we should, it would have been archived long ago and editing it would be forbidden.
As it is, many of the article's watchers will check out the edit - increasing editor workload, for an edit that does not improve the typical reader's experience at all. After all, the number of readers who are actually follow that link (er, rather, any of the half dozen or so (!) links) from the talk page at this point is likely just about zero. Especially given that it's a discussion concluding in the EXclusion of the mention of the movie in the PDP-11 article.
Please also keep in mind WP:OVERLINK; if one was going to "fix" all of those WLs a better approach would be to WL the film in only the first reference.
But it seems completely obvious to me that if one wants to improve the encyclopedia there are far more effective ways to spend one's time than any of the above. Jeh (talk) 12:25, 2 December 2017 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

Invitation to participate in Template talk:Firefox release compatibility

Hey. I was hoping I could you to take a look at the Template talk:Firefox release compatibility discussions about very bold edits made by a user called "Paianni" (formerly "Pepsie"). A fresh perspective or even lending a hand decoding what he does would be great.

To be honest, those are not the main reasons. There is already another user there; Codename Lisa. (You know her, right?) But frankly, there has recently been one too many CL-FC meatpuppetry accusations that I care about. I think more community participants is more welcome.

Would you please participate? I am very much the verge of begging you. 🙏

Can you ping me again after daybreak Saturday in the US? Thanks. Jeh (talk) 09:58, 16 December 2017 (UTC)
