Adding genres to infoboxes[edit]

Hello. Regarding your addition of genres to the infobox of Cowboy Carter, you'll find the NPR source you cited doesn't describe the album as those genres as a whole but merely says it "bounces around" to those genres. The album is not wholly "Irish jig" let alone "opera" or rock and roll, and I don't think that's what NPR meant to say the album is as a whole either. Besides, the way the source phrased that doesn't meet WP:EXPLICITGENRE to include. The album would have to be explicitly called an "Irish jig album" or "opera album" to include those. To be included, the quotes should attribute the genre to the album as a whole per the aforementioned WP:EXPLICITGENRE. Thanks. Ss112 10:16, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

OK, shall I revert my last edit? Kepin' it FUNKY (talk) 10:18, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You have performed three reverts on Cowboy Carter in the last few hours. If you perform one more in the next 24 hours, you will be reported for breaking 3RR. You have already come out of the gate after registering this account fighting over genres, which is very suspicious in and of itself. I strongly suggest you back away from genres on this article and any other, learn to discuss on the talk page with editors who disagree, and/or move on to something else. I used to be an unregistered account and had been for a number of years, so if I needed your "suggestions" I would've asked for it. Ever heard of talking to people in a civil tone and not going in guns blazing? Kepin' it FUNKY (talk) 12:04, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, Maria. I've heard that one from you before. Ss112 12:05, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My understanding is that NPR suggests Cowboy Carter shows Beyonce could do any genre. It does not explicity say that the album is all of those genres. Having one rock and one opera song on the album still allows NPR to make that suggestion. Its quite clear to any listener that not all songs on the album could be described as jigs, opera, rock etc. which is why the genre guidance exists. Multiple people asked you to STOP adding this information. You're either being ignorant or deliberately obtuse. Either way, there's a discussion on the talkpage and per WP:BRD, you have been reverted so the onus/responsibility is on you to STOP and get a consensus. WP:IDONTLIKEIT is not a valid excuse, neither is blatantly ignoring and reverting. I'd encourage you strongly to stop and discuss. WP:EXPLICITGENRE is really clear. >> Lil-unique1 (talk) — 12:56, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

April 2024: Stop edit warring and discuss your changes[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Cowboy Carter shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Haven't you done the same? Lil-unique1 stated it needed to explicitly state it was an R&B album, which I have added it to it. Your WP:IDONTLIKEIT way of it doesn't seem correct at all кєριи' ιт fυику 13:31, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Lol. Give it up Maria. Ss112 13:40, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
