December 2012[edit]

Hello, I'm Gtwfan52. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to History of the Seattle Seahawks seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Your additions to this page were at least in part, your opinion. Wikipedia only reports on what others have written in reliable sources. Please reference any further additions to reliable sources. Thank You. Gtwfan52 (talk) 07:05, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I certainly do respect your good intentions, but it still remains that you have to pull your information from sources, not from your own knowledge. If you read some of the links someone kindly left you back up at the top of this page, there will be some guidance found there for how you need to go about doing what you are trying to do. I will also leave you a link to a question and answer forum here on Wikipedia where you can ask questions pertaining to how you go about editing on Wikipedia. Thanks for your desire to contribute. If you follow the guidance that you have available, I trust that warnings like you have above will cease.Gtwfan52 (talk) 07:27, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to So Random!, but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Seattle Seahawks may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Empire News[edit]

Please actually investigate sources before adding them. Empire News clearly state they are a satirical site. There's also the date, July 18 of this year. June 2015[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at McDonaldland, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Diffs: [1] Unsourced analysis and content. Adding unsourced content and tagging it as unsourced isn't particularly helpful. If you have access to the source, please add it, otherwise it's presumed to be original research. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:26, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't make stuff up. And FYI, McDonaldland has very few references anyways. It's true that they stopped using sets in the mid-90s. Check out YouTube videos of McDonaldland commercials, and you can tell what is a studio set and what is real life.Marino13 (talk) 20:34, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't disbelieve you, and I'm sure you have good intentions, but unsourced content is of no long-term benefit to this project. If you add content, please be prepared to support it with references, as was communicated to you in 2013. Note also WP:BURDEN. It's nothing personal. A tag has been placed on File:Ariana Greenblatt.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 2601:194:380:1320:F1B9:C484:E63B:9997 (talk) 04:40, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No, I won't challenge it. Too many policies regarding the uploading of photos. May as well stay away from it. Ironic since I see copyrighted photos everywhere yet I can't upload such photos. Marino13 (talk) 03:32, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Isaac Ryan Brown, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. For the NBA playoffs, the lead is very short and the TOC appears near the top. By putting the NHL back, you've got a long lead and you have to page down to get to the TOC, or particularly the bracket.

Under Wraps (2021 film) moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Under Wraps (2021 film), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. What you tried to do here was at best sketchy, and at worst a base example of Gaming the system. Do NOT try something like this again. You had a draft that was declined at WP:AfC, and rather than work to improve that one, you tried to (re-)create an article in mainspace (a worse one) a second time. Try something like this again, and I'll have no choice but to look for sanctions – along the lines of suspending your article creation privileges. Consider this a friendly, but final, warning. --IJBall (contribstalk) 00:12, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I’m creating the page because no one else is making the effort to. I’m looking at various sources to make sure that page stands. The movie premiered no more than a year ago, and it’s a shame I have to do the workload. Marino13 (talk) 00:16, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's often the way it is on Wikipedia (and why I personally, have evolved away from doing much article creation – it's very time-consuming to do it right). But that doesn't excuse abandoning an existing (but rejected) draft, and trying to "recreate" the very same article while pretending that your original draft (that you authored) doesn't exist. As I said, doing stuff like this repeatedly is likely to lead to sanctions and/or a loss of some editing privileges. --IJBall (contribstalk) 00:22, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For the record I overlooked that the article was under a draft. Most articles I attempt to create are hardly ever drafted, and quickly abandoned after a period of time. Regarding this matter it won’t happen again. Marino13 (talk) 00:26, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Super Nintendo World (Hollywood section) pictures[edit]

Greetings Marino13, You're...clearly upset about me removing my own integration of the nighttime pic from the article, so let me explain why I did that:

-I thought that small section of the article (Hollywood) only needed 1 picture -Someone else re-added the 2nd daytime/construction pic, thus cluttering up the Hollywood section with 2 pics. Since someone else really wanted that daytime picture back in the article, l gave them the benefit of the doubt, and let their pic be the sole image of the Hollywood section.

So, I can add the nighttime pic/my caption back to the Hollywood section, and when more photos of the SNW areas *do* get uploaded, I'll be happy to make a proper Gallery section. Sound good?

Date format at Vladislav Gavrikov[edit]

I saw that you changed date formats at Vladislav Gavrikov with this edit. There is WP:DATEFORMAT, which lists the accepted date formats. In addition, there is also WP:DATERET, which quite clearly says not to change date formats for no apparent reason (which is what you did). Therefore, your edit summary was misleading so please read WP:SUMMARYNO. Your edit has already been reverted and I just wanted to explain it so this could be avoided in the future when you make edits. – sbaio 14:38, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Most articles have the month before the day, so your reason for telling me otherwise is ridiculous. Just look at all other articles here on Wikipedia. Marino13 (talk) 18:47, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You should look at those two policies that I listed, because you are clearly unfamiliar with them. In addition, it is always good to look at the page you are editing and see what date format is preferred there. You should also read WP:CIVIL, because your tone is rather WP:UNCIVIL for no reason. And your edits on some pages are also WP:POINTY, which is bad faith to say the least. – sbaio 20:49, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Only trying to help, I thought the point of an article is to expand and include as much info (and sourced if possible) as can be found. But it is apparent my edits are not acknowledged on some articles. Marino13 (talk) 20:53, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Draft:Jenna Davis ‎, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. A reliable source is mandatory for a date of birth. WP:DOB Mike Allen 18:12, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My bad. I thought it was common knowledge. Also, I did state a reason, saying her birth date is known. Either way, I am looking for a viable source to support this statement. Her draft may not be complete until she becomes more notable. Marino13 (talk) 18:14, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I was only submitting it to see if there may have been some things about it that worked. But I say time and time again, the sources are there. Marino13 (talk) 22:12, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Those sources were not enough to establish that a notable rivalry exists. If the article failed at AfD for that reason then re-submitted without improvements that address the issue then the draft is of course going to be declined. Simply stating "sources exist" is not enough. Reliable sources that help to establish this should be added to the article. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:42, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted your addition of an unsourced date of birth to Sarah Rose Karr. In addition to Wikipedia's basic principle of citing sources (Wikipedia:Citing sources), a special need for citations applies with regard to elements of a biography of a living person (WP:BLPPRIVACY). Feel free to add a date of birth when it is accompanied by a citation to a reliable, published, non-primary source. Eddie Blick (talk) 21:26, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That will be tricky, but I’ll find a reliable source for a birth date. Marino13 (talk) 21:49, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, finding birth dates can be difficult, especially for living people. Be sure to avoid public records (such as state birth indexes), which cannot be used as citations for content in biographies of living people, and user-generated websites (such as IMDb), which are not reliable for use as citations in any articles. Eddie Blick (talk) 01:57, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My Spy sequel, dates[edit]

Thank you for working towards a better Wikipedia.

Regarding this edit, where did you find that filming for My Spy: The Eternal City took place in Rome? That's a nice tidbit to include if it's true, but i only found sources saying Venice, Italy, not Rome.

On an unrelated subject, did you know that in some countries outside the US, English is the dominant language, but they write dates differently than in the US? That's why some Wikipedia pages show dates in a "weird" format. Sort of like the US might have a gray-colored elevator, while the UK has a grey-coloured lift. The US refers to July 4, 1776 (month before day), while some countries refer to the Fourth of July (day before month) as 4 July 1776. (i don't know how they pronounce it, but Here in the United States/North America, never do you hear anybody say dollars ten, even though that's how we write $10.) If i remember correctly, the written English used in England, and Canada (North America), and even the US military puts dates in the 4 July 1776 style. Wikipedia's Manual of Style (particularly the section MOS:DATETIES) basically says if a page is about a subject related to a certain country (or military), that page should put dates in the format used by that country (or military). A page about a British actor should use British-style dates, a page about an American movie should use American-style dates, a page about the US Army should use US military-style dates, etc.

i hope this helps!

--173.67.42.107 (talk) 18:12, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

With a new year approaching, I just want to put all the nonsense behind me. That includes the date debacle, of what should go first. Yes I understand about how some parts of the world display the dates differently, but I'll just leave it at this is my preferred method of getting things printed (MM/DD/YYYY).
As for My Spy 2, an actor from the film posted on their Instagram stories that they were already filming the sequel in Rome. I'm not a film insider per se, but when the actors post content from projects they are working on, it gives me a hint of what's going on and they just so happened to mention Rome, so that is what led me to this conclusion. If it's a typo, I will review and see for myself if their post is accurate.
Hope that helps. Marino13 (talk) 17:22, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits[edit]

Information icon Hi Marino13! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Lethal Weapon (franchise) that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. — Manticore 21:23, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My bad. I'll try not to make that mistake again. Marino13 (talk) 06:15, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh well. His music career is just kicking off. I'll give it time before I decide to start a draft again. Not so much of an acting career as far as his IMDb profile shows. Marino13 (talk) 21:55, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen a number of complaints from other users about you. And you obviously don't care when half of the time, they're just trying to do their part and contribute and expand articles to readers' pleasure. Whenever they have something to say about you on your talk page, you wipe their slates clean, time and time again. I don't condone vandalism if that is their intention(s) but I rest my case with my statement, sometimes they just want to help make an article better. Marino13 (talk) 16:02, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
