Your reply[edit]

Hi. Thanks for pointing out that error with postal code. It is indeed 831XX, per official website. That area code is the code of municipality found here, and so I assumed it as an area code, but feel free to change that.

To the translations: I would leave Kraj as Region, because it is more commonly used, though I've seen sometimes county as well, but not very often and Mestská časť = more terms could be applied, maybe we can omit "city part", but there are more possibilities: "ward", "neighborhood" or "borough". Please let me know what you think. MarkBA t/c/@ 22:00, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mike, yes I know, I feared that someone might tell me that it is direct copy and therefore copyvio, but I couldn't do better. If you feel that the prose can be changes, please do, I hid the 'Government' section for now. Anyway, nice cooperation today, thank you. MarkBA t/c/@ 20:40, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So I've changed that prose, so now I think that it shouldn't look as a copy of the city's website. I've also added another reference to it. MarkBA t/c/@ 21:13, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see you placed a translation request for the logo permission. What do you think, will I place it into my sandbox and try to translate it? MarkBA t/c/@ 14:56, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here is my attempt to translate your e-mail letter. See it if you think it's acceptable or I should try to tweak some things. MarkBA t/c/@ 15:51, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. I have an idea that you may or may not accept at first: why not try after some more polishing to suggest Bratislava article to make it good article? Because in my personal opinion, A and FA ratings are bit too high for now, and also, the assessment request placed here doesn't seem to get response quickly - last edit excluding adding assessment requests was 2½ months ago. What do you think? MarkBA t/c/@ 06:39, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is indeed an interesting question. One would imagine that the answer could be found somewhere. Certainly the story that it was invented by Wilson seems like it's probably a myth - why wouldn't Wilson just call it Pressburg? john k 03:24, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mike, if you want to know something about the names of Bratislava, I know every necessary detail regarding this because I had to deal with this years ago. As for the form "Bratislava", you can delete the part on Wilson - while it is possible that someone in Washington agreed to that name (but there is only one internet page claiming that), there is no document confirming this. As for the form Bratislava - it is not known who actually decided to use exactly this form of the name in early 1919, but the name as such is ultimately derived from the form wrongly derived by Šafárik in 1837 (from the name Břetislav), and was used in the current form by some Štúr followers after 1844 (besides other versions). Older usage of variants of "Bratislava" is not documented (except that Ján Kollár used the form Vratislava in the early 19th century, which he probably derived from Wratisslaburgium). ANI[edit]

Checkuser Request[edit]

You recently filed a case at WP:RFCU to have a checkuser run on User:Judo. The request has been moved down to the non-compliant section because: It stated no code letter. Please add a code letter to have your case relisted in the "outstanding requests" section.

Poll on Bratislava[edit]

Thank you for your participation in the discussion regarding the use of the names "Bratislava" and "Pressburg" on Talk:Bratislava. I would like also to invite you to a poll that will show us the real support for the two alternatives. I hope the poll will help us reach consensus and close this case so we can move on to other improvements of that (hopefully) future featured article. You can access the poll at Talk:Bratislava#Poll. I look forward to your opinion. Tankred 05:51, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Coat of arms[edit]

Hey Mike, if you are around, perhaps you can express your opinion here. It seems there is a little problem with Bratislava's coat of arms picture and we should fix it before going for FA. Tankred 19:58, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Information.[edit]

Hello,

Today, I came across your edit to the No true Scotsman article, wherein you added the following tag:

Could you please explain the reason for adding the tag in the first place? Although I undid the edit and assume good faith on your part, I decided to follow up on the rationale for the edit. --Aarktica 13:09, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:43, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Joerg Platzer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Kolbasz (talk) 23:48, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Slovenský plynárenský priemysel has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Blatant advertising.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
