January 2024[edit]

Please refrain from combative and hostile edit summaries like Go ruin some other non-European nautical article. Maybe fuck up the prehistoric egyptian boats or something. This is a collaborative project and you are required by policy to assume good faith of your colleagues. Look, I know that you hate Wikipedia, but if you want to keep editing the world's #7 website, you need to stop insulting people, and express your disagreements calmly and respectfully. Sure thing. I love collaborating on the world's #7 website. It's awesome.-- OBSIDIANSOUL 04:16, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Philippine cuisine template improvements[edit]

Hello. The "Main dishes" section of {{Philippine cuisine}} is too populated. Maybe it can be divided into subsections (aside from Rice dishes)? Do you think adding a "Stew dishes" subsection is good? Sanglahi86 (talk) 15:05, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sanglahi86: I'm not that particular on how the subsections are organized, to be honest. Just as long as it makes sense. Maybe separating soups, grilled, and fried dishes into their own subsections might be a better idea. I think the majority of dishes are stews/braised, so they should remain in the default section. But go ahead, see what works.-- OBSIDIANSOUL 15:11, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I tried reorganizing it several months ago by adding the "Rice dishes" section. I also asked help from another editor, but the template had not undergone a major reorganization since then. I was hoping if you could help reorganize it into subsections since I believe you know more about the intricacies of the dishes than I do. Sanglahi86 (talk) 15:17, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's a bit late. But yes, I'll try and help tomorrow when I have the time. You agree with starting with a "Soups" and maybe "Fried dishes" as a start? -- OBSIDIANSOUL 15:25, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Sanglahi86: Also, to be honest, I'd rather that the first dish in the template remain "Adobo", heh. Which wouldn't be the case if it was moved to a "Stews" section.-- OBSIDIANSOUL 15:30, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for helping out. Soups and Fried dishes subsections seem to be good. If Adobo is the first dish at the start, do you think it, Sinigang, Kare-kare and other more famous dishes deserve another subsection, maybe something like "Popular dishes" (although the term may be contentious)? Whatever you think is best for the template, I believe it would be for the better since it seems to be your expertise. Sanglahi86 (talk) 15:37, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Sanglahi86: Nah, I just got into the habit of writing about Filipino cuisine when I have the time. It had awful coverage back then on Wikipedia. I think a "Popular dishes" section is too subjective. Separating "Soups" and "Fried dishes" might be enough for now to depopulate it somewhat.-- OBSIDIANSOUL 15:41, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I find the coverage of Philippine cuisine (particularly, the separate dish articles) currently impressive, thanks to your contributions. Yes, I agree Soups and Fried dishes might be enough for now. Sanglahi86 (talk) 15:46, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Article shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
