Wikipedia's external links policy[edit]

Hello: The reason why the external link in the George Harrison article continues to be removed is because it violates at least two external link policies. Most importantly, despite the claims of the site that the content is licensed under CC, there are full-length movies representing clearly copyrighted work. Merely claiming that the content is freely licensed does not make it actually so. Thus, the link falls under clause #1 of WP:ELNEVER. Furthermore, the link covers a variety of content that is much broader in scope than the subject of the article. It is not enough for the content to be merely "related," it must be directly related. This is covered by WP:ELNO clause #13. If you want to discuss the inclusion of this link, please do so on the article's talk page. Regards, Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 19:22, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Three-revert warning for George Harrison[edit]

Before you insert your link again, I suggest you read about Wikipedia's three-revert rule. In order to avoid any disaster here, I have started a topic on the article's talk page. I recommend that the discussion be continued there. Regards, Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 20:21, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

August 2011[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. MrOllie (talk) 16:26, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 16:33, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Spamming[edit]

Please stop spamming your project links all over Wikipedia. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked. OhNoitsJamie Talk 16:43, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • This is not my project, and should not be threats. Ron Halls (talk) 16:57, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, it appears that the editor you reported may not have engaged in vandalism, or the user was not sufficiently or appropriately warned. Please note there is a difference between vandalism and unhelpful or misguided edits made in good faith. If the user continues to vandalise after a recent final warning, please re-report it. Thank you. Daniel Case (talk) 17:04, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

stop It should be abundantly clear to you by now that the project does not want your links, per WP:EL and WP:COPYVIO. Please stop making spurious reports and wasting other editors' time. OhNoitsJamie Talk 17:05, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • You are wrong. We chatted in email. He wants. You do not have the right to delete this link. I'm for justice. --Ron Halls (talk) 17:17, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless of what you may think, I'm an administrator and I do have the ability to block you. OhNoitsJamie Talk 17:20, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bogus warnings[edit]

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. OhNoitsJamie Talk 17:22, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • This excess of authority and your actions are illegal absolutelly. Do you want lose your status? Ron Halls (talk) 17:27, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The only thing that's going to be lost is your ability to edit Wikipedia. I'm not discussing this further. OhNoitsJamie Talk 17:29, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked indefinitely[edit]

You have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for continuing to add spam links. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may place {{unblock}} on your user talk page to have the block reviewed. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia.
