WP:CIVIL Sadowski and Sable232

I am posting this same message on both of your talk pages. Both of your behaviors are completely unacceptable. Sadowski, this diff is where the incivility started (as far as I can tell) [1]. Calling other editors "fake" and trying to pull rank based on outside experience are both not going to work. Neither is pointy editing, like your removal of several generations from the Continental article. Your efforts to push a point of view about older vehicles is also not acceptable, see WP:NPOV. Sable's response is really beyond the pale thou, I can understand how Sadowski's message may have upset you, but he is a new editor who is likely unaware of our community's standards regarding civility and interaction. To respond by calling him a prick (as you did in this edit [ http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Sadowski&diff=prev&oldid=408310019]) is not the way to explain our standards and is pretty shocking coming from a long time editor such as yourself. You both need to either apologize to each other and work together or you both need to stop editing articles where you might come into contact. I would be happy to help mediate your conflict, but an apology would be needed from both of you. --Leivick (talk) 02:34, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Dabomb87 (talk) 04:03, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

About the inline commonscat

I didn't only change the commonscat to inline for Buick articles, I did it for many articles where the commonscat box is not very noticeable. For example, on articles like Buick Rainier and Isuzu i-Series, the commonscat box was located directly below the infobox and was sometimes almost hidden from view. I was just trying to make the commonscats more visible and optimally located. —Reelcheeper (talk) 23:43, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice. I agree that it's better to make a commonscat box under an external links section, since a link to Commons isn't really a reference. I will try to fix any commonscats I find that are improperly located (unless you have already done so). —Reelcheeper (talk) 23:23, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Durango file

I work for the company that listed that sale, so how is that failure of copyright? Also I just think it's how the new unibody Explorer has a top spot on the page, while they still use the larger, body-on frame Durango as the main picture for its own page. I don't have any bias of manufacturer, but obviously some others do. FeralLynX (talk) 23:00, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Funny, I am not a Wikipedia contributor but I got on here since I am an Ohio State grad and I was looking at the Jim Tressel page and it said I had a message... I guess my stepson (who is a car enthusiast) made the change to the year on that car you were upset about. As for you accusing him of vandalism... he insists that the year on that car is wrong.75.83.138.90 (talk) 00:52, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

For what it's worth, I finally made the US 10N and US 10S shields you requested a while ago. –Fredddie 19:51, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! I had actually forgotten that I had requested those. I still keep forgetting to request a bot template be made from the 1920 and 1934 state shields, but my Constitutional Route list has been on the back burner for a while anyway. --Sable232 (talk) 00:16, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Update

Thought you'd like to know I created the first batch of 1920-style shields today. I didn't make very many, only enough to finish the US 55 junction list. –Fredddie 23:42, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Great, thanks! I should start moving ahead on the 1920-34 route list once I start getting time to work on it. --Sable232 (talk) 01:48, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

24.184.230.106 (talk) 23:26, 17 May 2011 (UTC)Sable 232. I do not know where you live or why you keep wiping out the History of Wyandanch. This is the poorest community on Long Island, New York. It has faced numerous problems for over a century both as a white and later African-American community. Federal, State and local governments are spending up to $500 million to revitalize this community. Wiping out the history of this beleagured community-especially at this time is a great and unwarrented disservice. It was decided last September to merge it with Wyandanch, New York, not to remove it. If you tell me how to merge it I will. But, I cannot understand why you are so zealous on this. Also, what purpose is served by threatening removing my editing ability. Please be reasonable.24.184.230.106 (talk)

False vandalism claims

I just recieved a message today notifying me about vandalism to wikipedia. If anything, I helped reduced vadalism by removing content that wasn't encyclopedic and added descriptive, neutral information. No, I haven't cited sources on these, but considering these aren't additions of major information, it isn't top-priority.Wikimann1234 (talk) 01:14, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

I also noticed you undid my edits to the Ford Freestyle/Taurus X Articles. Given that the only charecteristic of an SUV it has is all-wheel drive, I suggest leaving the status as a full-sized station wagon due to the design and car body. I also thought you were done with automobile articles as well?Wikimann1234 (talk) 01:22, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
I'm just following the loose guidelines we have established. The subaru Forester actually has SUV characteristics, whereas the Ford Freestyle doesn't. At least I'm not making up terms like "crossover wagon" or "CUV"! CUV? what does that even stand for?Wikimann1234 (talk) 01:33, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I guess I'll settle for the term crossover for both. Mid-size crossover for the Forester, and Full-size crossover for The Freestyle. But I'm only settling on crossover for the freestyle because of the height and third row seating. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikimann1234 (talkcontribs) 01:49, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Manitoba Highway 12.png

Thank you for uploading File:Manitoba Highway 12.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:05, 16 July 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 2

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Freightliner Century Class, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Freightliner (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

In the case of Chevrolet Celebrity, "headlamp" is the correct term per the headlamp article.
As for Hyundai Accent, please read this section of the Manual of Style. When an article is written in British English, it should not be changed to American English (or vice versa) except where the topic has intrinsic ties to one region or the other. Since the Accent was a Korean car sold in several English-speaking markets, there are no national ties to any one, so the existing variety of English stands as-is. --Sable232 (talk) 20:57, 20 October 2018 (UTC)

Saturn ip

That IP is nuts. And the edit summaries read like computer speak, circa 2002. Editors ought to be required to sign up before editing.  Mr.choppers | ✎  22:47, 25 November 2018 (UTC)

Indeed. Clearly not someone with a good grasp of English, which seems to be getting more common on Wikipedia.
I've noticed that keeping IP disruption at bay is more difficult now, between IPv6 and the availability of mobile editing. Unfortunately, all we can do is revert on sight since there's no use playing whack-a-mole with blocking the IPs. --Sable232 (talk) 22:56, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
