Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello, Sblake927, I'm Kafziel. I noticed you were new, or at least that nobody has officially welcomed you yet, so let me be the first to say hello, give you some tips, and share a few useful links.

Here are some links you might find helpful:

I know they're a little boring (okay... a lot boring) but they may come in handy someday.

I give every newcomer two tips for adding content: cite references whenever possible, and try to set aside any personal points of view. Aside from that, just be patient and receptive, ask questions whenever you need to, and have a good time. If you want to experiment with coding or see how articles will look before you post them, you can use your own private sandbox at User:Sblake927/sandbox for any tests you want to do. (The link will turn blue after you start the page.)

Now that you have your own user name, you can sign your comments on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically stamp your user name, the time, and the date. That will help other users reply to your posts. You may also want to fill out your user page to tell others a bit about yourself.

I hope this information is useful to you, and I'm looking forward to seeing your contributions. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me for help. Good luck, and happy editing! Kafziel Complaint Department 15:42, 1 December 2008 (UTC) [reply]

Speedy deletion of Tommy meier[edit]

A tag has been placed on Tommy meier requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Sources[edit]

Your article would need independent sources in order to not be deleted. What this means is that when the county raceway writes about a driver there, they're doing it to promote themselves as well as write about the driver. When he writes about himself, he's doing it to promote himself. Have sources independent of the subject written about him? I dunno much about dirt track racing, but if there are prominent magazines in the field, that might be a good place to start. Hope this helps. Friday (talk) 14:05, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright Violations[edit]

I have deleted two of the images you uploaded—Tommy Meier and OCFS—as clear copyright violations. You are not the photographer or copyright holder (as you stated yourself, in your descriptions) but the tag you used made the claim that you were. False claims to photo rights are taken very seriously; you've received a number of previous warnings about policy violations, and there will not be many more before you begin to lose editing privileges. Nobody wins when that happens, so please take the time to read and understand our policies before you upload any more media. Thank you. Kafziel Complaint Department 23:16, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Tommy Meier/doc, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. File:Oldocfs.gif missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Oldocfs.gif is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:00, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
