Welcome![edit]

Hello, Suman Raj S M, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Powder (2024 film), which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Wikishovel (talk) 13:03, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I will ensure to keep a note on this and thank you for explaining it to me. I will make sure to seek your help to proofread my future content. Suman Raj S M (talk) 08:30, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

May 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Chaotic Enby. I noticed that you recently removed content from Shreyas Manju without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Chaotıċ Enby (talk · contribs) 13:05, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Noted. It was a mistake. I will explain the changes briefly in future. Thank you. Suman Raj S M (talk) 08:22, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your edit to Shreyas Manju has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for information on how to contribute your work appropriately. For legal reasons, Wikipedia strictly cannot host copyrighted text or images from print media or digital platforms without an appropriate and verifiable license. Contributions infringing on copyright will be removed. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. GSS💬 05:59, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Shreyas K Manju requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from news18.com/movies/ahead-of-shreyas-majnus-30th-birthday-a-look-at-his-career-in-the-kannada-film-industry-8839832.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. GSS💬 09:02, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Shreyas Manju‎[edit]

Please stop removing the redirect and adding copyrighted text from other websites. If you continue, you will be reported and likely blocked from editing. GSS💬 09:10, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. The page "Shreyas Manju" was redirecting to his first film named "Padde Hulli" hence was removing the redirect. We are not able to create his Wikipedia page because of this redirect issue. 49.207.61.116 (talk) 08:16, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without evidence of permission. Please take this opportunity to ensure that you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:35, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Shreyas K Manju moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Shreyas K Manju. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and there's almost nothing left after removal of the copyright violations. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:42, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request to unblock[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Suman Raj S M (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Since I'm new to Wikipedia, I made a silly mistake while editing, which I regret. The page 'Shreyas Manju' is of a Kannada actor who has worked with several movies but his page was being redirected to his first film 'Padde Hulli'. Hence I tried to create his account with the information he provided me. Requesting to please review and forgive me

Decline reason:

In order to lift the block, we need to be certain that you understand how copyright works on Wikipedia. To allow the reviewing administrator to assess your understanding, please respond to the following questions in your next unblock appeal, explaining in your own words:

  • What is copyright?
  • How is Wikipedia licenced?
  • Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia?
  • Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?
  • How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future?

Your answers will enable us to establish whether or not you should be unblocked. Yamla (talk) 11:41, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You'll also need to address your obvious violation of WP:COI. --Yamla (talk) 11:41, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Suman Raj S M (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I will be answering to Yamla questions below in my own words. 1) Copyright means we can't copy content without permission. 2) Wikipedia is licensed with Creative Commons Attribution. 3) Copyrighted content is not allowed on Wikipedia because of Wikipedia guidelines and legal issues. 4) We can use copyrighted content only if we get permission of its use. 5) I will be careful and stick to the content that is fair to use.

Requesting to please review and forgive me Suman Raj S M (talk) 06:03, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

These are very simplistic answers that aren't sufficient, and 3 and 4 are not entirely correct. 331dot (talk) 08:36, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Suman Raj S M, you have not yet responded to the query raised by Wikishovel a few days ago. Could you please disclose any potential conflict of interest? Do you know "Shreyas K. Manju" personally or professionally? GSS💬 14:08, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Shreyas K Manju is someone I've worked with in the past on a film project, so I know him through our professional interactions. Since he had issues with his Wikipedia page, he requested me to check if it can be fixed. His page was redirecting to his first film named "Padde Hulli", hence I tried to correct it. Which is why I got blocked. 49.207.61.116 (talk) 08:09, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
