Request on 06:07:54, 10 August 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Cornisha Williams-Bailey[edit]

(Redacted) Cornisha Williams-Bailey (talk) 06:07, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

We are not interested in a rerun of Seigenthaler. Find sources for each and every claim made in the draft. Ad hominem redacted.A little blue Bori v^_^v Hasteur Hasteur Ha-- oh.... 07:50, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Cornisha Williams-Bailey, Well if you really are Ms. Williams-Bailey, that language is hardly befitting a politician. At any rate, compare your article to say that on George W. Bush, and you'll see how your article pales in comparison to a typical article. You have no inline sources, and the article is promotional and poorly written. If you'd really like to improve it, please ask for help. But if you're just gonna be rude, then I suggest you go elsewhere. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 08:18, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

08:15:39, 10 August 2020 review of draft by Marj C.[edit]

I would like to publish an article. It's currently in my Sandbox but in order to move it to the draft workspace, I believe I need to have at least 10 edits. I have already submitted it by copying the template redacted lines before publishing it, but am uncertain if this pushed through. Thank you for your time and patienct.

Marj C. (talk) 08:15, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Marj C., The article as it stands lacks appropriate citations to prove the notability of the subject. Thus it is not yet ready for the main article space. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 08:22, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Marj C. Even if you are technically able to move the article into main space, unless you are extremely experienced in creating articles(the hardest task to perform on Wikipedia) it's a very good idea to run it through Articles for Creation first. 331dot (talk) 08:28, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

08:56:44, 10 August 2020 review of submission by Gigara[edit]

This company is a well known large company in Sri Lanka and I think this should be on Wikipedia. What can I add for this? Gigara (talk) 08:56, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Gigara The draft has been rejected, not just declined, meaning that it will not be considered further. The draft is only sourced to the company website. Wikipedia is not interested in what an article subject says about itself, only in what independent reliable sources have chosen on their own to say about it, with significant coverage. (not just press releases, announcements of routine business transactions, staff interviews, etc.) Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about a company. 331dot (talk) 09:11, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hallaamro111, It is patently not suitable for the English language Wikipedia. Please try it in its native language version Fiddle Faddle 09:42, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Murattu kaalai111122, Appears to me to be an attack page, trashing the person highlighted in it. Fiddle Faddle 14:04, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

14:41:26, 10 August 2020 review of submission by Tdubsmun[edit]

I just received a rejection notice and the listed reason for the rejection was "undefined". I'm looking for some clarification on: a) why the page was rejected, and: b) what I can do to improve it. A previous editor requested my WP:THREE, which I provided -- including a national broadcaster and two major national newspapers. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Tdubsmun (talk) 14:41, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@DGG and Tdubsmun: this looks like a helper script failure to me. As for the sources:  Investigating... Victor Schmidt (talk) 14:48, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have the following to say about the sources:
  1. linkedin.com is often not considered a reliable source
  2. https://craft.co/flybits is a directory listing and often not WP:SIGCOV.Victor Schmidt (talk) 14:53, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Tdubsmun: The company is not notable and the draft is WP:CORPSPAM. Of your WP:THREE, the CBC covers the company only to the extent of quoting/paraphrasing a handful of sentences by the company's vice-president of marketing and communications. There's no independence there. The other two, The Globe and Mail and Financial Post, are about the startup raising capital, a type of article explicitly excluded by WP:CORPDEPTH as routine trivial coverage that cannot demonstrate notability. It's also a bad sign when sources solicit companies to send them "news to share". --Worldbruce (talk) 21:54, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
References 1 through 7 are either direct PR, or a PR based interview where the head of the firm is allowed to say whatever they please about themselves--none of these are RS, not even if CBC or another generally reputable source publishes such an interview. 8 is a routine notice about funding. 9 is from a "contributor", without editorial control. The rest are placements on lists, a promotional device. The likelihood is that the firm is not notable & will not pass AfD. When you become notable, someone without coi will write an article without needing your involvement. DGG ( talk ) 22:13, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

23:26:42, 10 August 2020 review of submission by Pipsta[edit]

Added more info, this person is now more popular and has more information online for me to use as references and sources and to create a more up to date and in depth article. Pipsta (talk) 23:26, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

At the moment there are no indepenent, reliable sources that show that the subject of this article is notable. I'd recommend reading Help:Your_first_article for some guidance on how to write an article that is likely to be accepted.
Given your username it might also be worth reading Wikipedia:Autobiography as writing an article about yourself is strongly discouraged.
If this article doesn't pass, there are still plenty of other things you can do to contribute to Wikipedia, such as improving existing articles.Pi (Talk to me!) 00:04, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

23:27:57, 10 August 2020 review of submission by Thespiansapien[edit]

Hi. The last time my article was reviewed was 2 months ago. I've made quite a few revisions, following wikipedia guidelines. I would like to write more articles, but this process for the first is so daunting. When I check the review time, it went from 5 weeks, to 8 weeks, and now two months since submissions are in no specific order. Does it usually take this long to get a review? I don't mean to complain, but it's just frustrating.

Thespiansapien (talk) 23:27, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thespiansapien, Creating an article from scratch is one of the hardest things a new Wikipedian can do. We generally suggest you edit existing articles first, to get a feel for the encyclopedia. Articles are reviewed by volunteers, and thus the review queue can vary dramatically. There is no prohibition on having multiple drafts going at one time, you are free to make as many as you'd like.
With regards to Draft:Chido Nwokocha, could you show how he meets one of the WP:NACTOR notability criteria? If you can show he meets one of those, your draft will get approved much faster. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 05:50, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
CaptainEek, thanks for the feedback. I added notes to the television table showing that he is a series regular and had a recurring role on another major televisions series. I also added an external social media link showing he has a large and active amount of followers. Would that help in showing his notability as an actor? I checked out the other actors on the BET Sistas wiki and it seems they have less proper citations and acting credits than Chido, yet their pages were approved. If you have time, can you please let me know what else I am doing wrong? I have edited other wiki pages before, but I didn't do it under a username. It was so easy to just go in and edit articles that are already there. Thespiansapien (talk) 13:50, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
