Joel clements is D E A D (talk) 02:01, 27 November 2022 (UTC) why was my draft denied?[reply]

The subject of the article is in no way notable, and will not be considered further, as it had been rejected (meaning it can't be submitted again). echidnaLives - talk - edits 02:11, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Amirreza cheraghi You don't ask a question. 331dot (talk) 13:34, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Tried to create an article about "Amirreza Cheraghi", web designer, software developper, but it rejected. i know it takes time to complete the profile, but how can verify now and update it? Thank. Amirreza cheraghi (talk) 13:39, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Amirreza cheraghi For additional comment, please edit this existing section, instead of creating additional sections. So you were attempting to write about yourself? Please read the autobiography policy as to why this is inadvisable.
Wikipedia does not have "profiles", not a single one. Wikipedia has articles. Those articles summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the subject, showing how they meet Wikipedia's special definition of a notable person. Please read Your First Article? It appears your article was deleted for not indicating how you are a notable person. Please use Articles for creation to create and submit a draft for review- but I would advise you to spend some time editing existing articles first, to understand how Wikipedia operates and what is expected of article content. 331dot (talk) 13:49, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

16:04:37, 27 November 2022 review of submission by Seven3531[edit]

The re-review request is putting forward due to the need to identify individuals for trial research. Novack led the COVID-19 trials and designed the Moderna trial with Harvard Medical School. While articles have noted his role, wikipedia has not. He is mentioned in the Moderna_COVID-19_Vaccine wikipedia page but I am unable to link him to the page, due to it being in Draft mode.

@Seven3531, please read WP:PROF to understand what is required for a researcher to have a Wikipedia article. Just being a researcher at Harvard Medical School is not enough. It is much too soon in his career for him to have made the kind of contributions we are looking for. StarryGrandma (talk) 00:28, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Starry Grandma for the comment. I'm a little confused as to how Novack does not qualify for designing the Moderna Trial and being a member of Operation Speed but Jeff Jacoby (columnist) does. Seven3531 (talk) 01:05, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Apples and oranges - WP:NPROF does not apply to Jacoby. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v a little blue Bori 01:08, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's all about what documents accomplishments - in-depth coverage in multiple reliable sources independent of the person, for researchers as shown by WP:PROF. I don't understand the comparison - Jacoby is not a scientific researcher! Was he part of Operation Speed? Novack is a junior member of some very large teams. Are you sure he was the single senior designer of the the Moderna trial and the single senior leader of the COVID-19 trials in those papers? The sources don't appear to say so. StarryGrandma (talk) 01:22, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, he was not the single designer of the Moderna trial or COVID-19 trials but he was a senior member. I just saw a presentation given by Novack with the NEJM and he mentioned that there has been lots of misinformation. I wanted to write a page so people knew his overall history as he is googled often. Seven3531 (talk) 01:36, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I also put him under a journalist category as he may not fit the WP:PROF. Seven3531 (talk) 01:38, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Seven3531: He is an early-career stage academic, but not a journalist, according to the draft and to the sources used in the draft. Academics are very often asked to contribute to newspapers or popular scientific publications – that's part of the job, and it doesn't turn them into journalists. The draft makes a couple of rather strange claims about New England Journal of Medicine: it says that Novack became "one of the youngest editors" for the journal in 2020, and it also says that he "currently writes for" it. Neither claim is supported by a source, and I wonder if they are actually accurate; his name is not listed in their board of editors, and to say that somebody "writes for" a scientific journal doesnt quite make sense to me. Where did you get that information? --bonadea contributions talk 15:20, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
