I believe there is an intention to confuse. The Iranica reference seems to be talking about something else. Besides it gives no reference to what it asserts, The Marwanids in Amed (Diyarbakir) could not have been Arabs. We also have sharafnama asserting that they were Kurds. On 12 August 2022, it was proposed that this article be moved from Marwanids to Marwanids (Diyar Bakr). The result of the discussion was moved.

Referenced information removed under false edit summary[edit]

Would User:Gomada care to explain why he removed a reference and referenced information from this article, using the false edit summary of "fixing sources.. continue..."?[1]

Iranica refers to them as a Kurdish dynasty in another article (AKHLAT), so it is in conflict with itself. However, most other academic sources consider them as Kurdish. Vekoler (talk)

I think there is an error. Ibn al-Athir was born 1161, so he cannot be a contemporary to Nasr al-Dawla. Kurdo Chali

Marwanids → Marwanids (Diyar Bakr) – The primary topic for the name Marwanids is the Umayyad Caliphate, entirely unrelated and materially more notable.
