Mikha'il Na'imaMikhail Naimy – Per WP:COMMONNAME; "Mikhail Naimy" gets more results on Google (112,000 vs. 10,600), JSTOR, and Ngram Viewer than "Mikha'il Na'ima". 80.12.34.97 (talk) 05:30, 25 October 2019 (UTC) Relisting. comrade waddie96 ★ (talk) 09:43, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nomination. English Wikipedia should reflect name forms by which authors are known in the English-speaking world. There are numerous English-language editions that show the author's name as Mikhail Naimy, while the form Mikha'il Na'ima does not show any English-language titles in print. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 06:10, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Lebanese?[edit]

@JJNito197: I have read the page of the book cited, which calls Naimy a Syrian. I do not see the evidence that he is Lebanese. I can see if indeed he was born in Mount Lebanon Mutasarrifate in the Ottoman Empire, then he would be ethnically Lebanese, but there is no source that supports any birthplace that I can find. Hello, @Elizium23: I will try and find another source to cite this, I think it was the fact he was born in Ottoman Syria, but this would make him still Lebanese as he lived in and died after the creation of the republic. Here is a source that mentions him being specifically Lebanese rather than Syrian when listing the members of the Pen Club.[1] Regards, JJNito197 (talk) 01:02, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Elizium23: Just added another source which specifies his origin clearer, RegardsJJNito197 (talk) 01:05, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
