Welcome[edit]

Bienvenue, herzlich willkommen and a very warm welcome to my user page! I´m a student at University of Freiburg and this user page will primarily be used for a Wikipedia translation class. I´m a native speaker of French and German, studying English and trying to learn a bit of Spanish in my spare time.

So welcome aboard, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

"Arise, arise, Riders of Théoden!

Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter!

Spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered,

a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!

Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!"

J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King

Username[edit]

"Ere the sun rises" is a quote from J.R.R. Tolkien´s The Return of the King, the third and last volume of The Lord of the Rings. It is a rallying cry spoken by Théoden, King of Rohan, during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields at the gates of Minas Tirith.[1]
